Frequently Asked Questions
Iowa Liberty Network (ILN) is a Christian, grassroots, nonpartisan organization focused on maintaining the liberties endowed by our Creator through getting authentic, constitutional conservatives elected to the Iowa State Legislature and other public offices.
- Mobilize Iowans in the battle for our liberties
- Identify, recruit, and support candidates who have led in the protection of our liberties
- Expose corruption and encroachments on our liberties, serving as a sheepdog
- Inform and educate Iowans on issues, bills, and actions taken, regardless of party
Sheepdogs are people who watch over the rest of the people. The rest are called sheep. Sheepdogs prevent the 'wolves' or bad people/things from hurting the sheep. The sheep don't like the sheepdog. Sheep prefer to go along their merry way, oblivious to the perils of life. Sheep tolerate sheepdogs' existence to keep the wolves away. A Sheepdog protects sheep from wolves.
We believe legislation in Iowa should primarily focus on protecting and restoring the rights and liberties of individuals. Corporations, government agencies, or the State and Federal governments shall not have the right to infringe on:
- Life
- Freedom of Speech
- Freedom of Religion
- Property, including Body Autonomy
- Privacy
- Self Defense
- Due Process
Legislative accountability is essential to protecting our liberties and restoring those that have been diminished. We encourage you to talk with your legislators and stay in contact outside the legislative session. Educate them on the issues most impacting individual rights across the state and find out what they are doing about them. This will help to further an issue and hold them accountable so that if they are not doing what is best for the rights of Iowans, you will know you need to find someone to hold them accountable in a primary.

Local groups are the backbone of Iowa Liberty Network. They are involved with city and county issues but when networked together, they also give us the numbers to support or defeat bills in the statehouse, apply pressure to a public servant who is not upholding their oath of office, or band together behind true conservatives running for office, so more conservatives are elected throughout the state.
Shouldn't the county central committees be championing Constitutional principles and defending my liberties?
Yes, they should be. And in some cases they are. However, in many cases, central committees are solely focused on getting party candidates elected, regardless of the principles those candidates espouse. That leaves little time or resources to focus on defending our liberties. There are exceptions to this. Some central committees have gotten it right. And we do want to know about them.
Likewise, we want to hear about your liberty-focused local group that is operating independently so we can support that too.
Contact Iowa Liberty Network to find out if we have contacts in your county who are interested in connecting with you. ILN can also give you some guidance on how to get started.
The Iowa Liberty Network PAC (Political Action Committee) has been established to support candidates that will preserve liberty and are often not supported by either party. Those who will defend citizens rights are usually not the top priority for getting elected and the grassroots across Iowa would love to change that by uniting forces to elect quality individuals that will stand up for our natural rights.
